Doutie Retires At Age Of 32
Former Ajax Cape Town, Orlando Pirates, SuperSport United and Bidvest Wits winger Sameehg Doutie has retired from football.
The 32-year-old Cape Town-born former youth international, who was part of the u20 team that went to the 2009 U20 World Cup, also had spells in India and Sweden.
Doutie broke onto the professional scenes as an exciting teenager at Ajax in the 2007/2008 season, but never quite reached the heights predicted.
However there were many highlights in his 15 year career.
His last playing spell was at Bidvest Wits in the 2019/2020 season and had been without a club since. On Thursday evening, he posted a farewell letter, ending it with “goodbye to the beautiful game”.
