The group name SHINee is a new word derived from the addition of the word “shine” and the suffix “e,” meaning one who receives light. Under SM Entertainment, a record label company, SHINee was originally formed with five members named Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho, and Taemin.
This group is also called “Princes of K-pop.”
On May 22, 2008, SHINee members officially debuted with EP (Extended Play), “Replay,” which peaked at eighth position on the South Korean Music Charts.
